House of Kochubei. Treasury | Tynytsia, Bakhmach region, is a village (2,100 residents) situated near the upper reaches of Maly Romen River. Written records mentioned Tynytsia for the first time in 1659. In the 17th and 18th c. the village belonged to the Kochubeis, a family of Ukrainian gentry. Today one can see a showy alley of slender old fir-trees leading to the single-storey wing (called the house of Kochubei). Nearby there is a treasury in the thicket; the later superstructure spoiled the original appearance. The local vocational school has been the long-standing owner of these buildings. They are situated in the old protected park (18th-19thc), still showing the intricate design of park grounds and radial alleys. The disheveled park is romantically sad as if mourning the fleetingness of time. The poetic charm is underlined by picturesque ponds surrounding the park. |
